Last Tuesday (15.07) we had another edition of International Cuisine Day at Thomson Reuters office. Gathered money will be spent on upcoming English Summer Camp. Thomson Reuters is our camp partner & sponsor for over 4 years so far.
During this edition we managed to gather a big number of cooks – 28 Thomson Reuters employees volunteered to cook for children. We had both vegetarian and meat dishes, as well as cakes and desserts. The meals were from all over the world. The number of people buying was also impressive, we sold everything in half of hour and we managed to collect 1612,13 zł. The total sum will be donated to this year Camp.
We would like to thank everyone who participated in this event!
We are proud of our colleagues from the PMI Warsaw Branch who decided to follow our idea of the English Summer Camp and who also organize their own camp. The project entitled Warsaw Project Management Kids Camp is a very similiar initiative to our ESC.
Their camp starts this Sunday We keep our fingers crossed!
We’d like to invite everyone who wants to support English Summer Camp to a Garage Sale. It will take place on 19.07.2014 (Saturday) at Flumark Pchli Targ on GOKF Stadium, Subisława street in Gdańsk (Żabianka), and will last from 9:00AM to 15:00PM.
The target of Garage Sale is to collect funds for organisation of the Camp. During this event, everyone who wants to support PMI GB initiative will have an opportunity to buy variety of things sold by PMI GB volunteers and our camp’s fans. You can also bring your unnecessary things and sell them and later pass collected money to ESC. The entire income from the sale will be assigned for the organisation of English Summer Camp.
A group of 25 kids will start an adventurous two weeks full of new experiences and surprises on the 2nd of August for. These are the pupils of Gdańskie Domy dla Dzieci, Gdansk Foundation of Social Innovation as well as the kids supported by a Rotary Sopot International.
Among them 19 children will have an incredible opportunity to participate in the English Camp and have a great fun, study and meet other kids. We can’t wait to meet all of them!
We kindly request you to support our project at https://www.wspolnyprojekt.pl/pl/projekty/lets_do_robots The main topic of the upcoming English Summer Camp is automation and engineering. The children will be constructing their own robots which will be pacing in the labyrinths, also to be made by the kids.
For that, we need your support! Each Polish zloty donated will make a difference, because only with this collected money we will buy the needed materials. Please register yourself and support our project at www.wspolnyprojekt.pl
Additionally, you can also take part in a competition (https://www.wspolnyprojekt.pl/konkurs/), no matter if you contribute to our project or not. It would be enough, if you could vote for us and invite your friends to like our project as well. Our project is entitled: ‘Let’s do Robots’. If you invite your friends you will also have a chance to win prizes plus we will receive the extra donation for ESC 2014.
English Summer Camp 2014 program`s preparations are in full swing. This year we`ve decided to take up the topic of automatic control engineering and robotics. That`s why the main objective of the Camp will be to construct robots. First attempts to build a model which will be constructed by the younger and older participants of ESC 2014, have already been made. What is more, another part of our mysterious plan is to build labyrinths.
Here there are some photos from testing. Does it seem quite promising? 🙂 Please follow our profile on FB, as soon we are going to invite you for the event connected to this idea.
Are you or a friend of yours is getting married?
So…we encourage you to take part in our Wedding Campaign!!
What does it mean? You could ask the wedding guests to bring things that children need, instead of flowers. We can pick them from you and pass to the children. We could collect accessories, sweets and many more things for the children of our camp!
In case that you need more information, you are more than welcome to contact us!
In June 11th PMI Gdańsk Branch volunteers together with the people working on the next English Summer Camp edition took part in Forum Inicjowania Rozwoju.
This forum was a one-day conference about cross-sectoral cooperation, which main goal is to spread best practices between different sectors. The English Camp initiative was invited to this event and had an opportunity to present their achievements during the session devoted to good practices in the implementation of cross-sectoral projects. Katarzyna Gralla, Adriana Grzenkowicz &
Wojciech Tyborowski spoke about this to almost 250 conference participants that were present this year. In the afternoon an active session “Training of generating cross-sectoral projects” led Pzemysław Kotecki, newly elected president of PMI Gdańsk Branch together with few moderators.
In order to organize next camp, our great volunteer team has to collect the funds. Although we have a lot of different ideas, it would not hurt us to learn more about fundraising, tools that we could use and simply how to make it good and efficient.
That’s why we organized, for the second time, workshops with Maria Olszewska, certified Fundraiser. During six hours we have been studying not only about the tools, but also practicing initiating contact with new people. We have also sorted out our current ideas and come up with some new ones. Based on participants’ opinion that was an amazing workshop, which hopefully will result in gaining funds for the upcoming English Summer Camp.
We would like to thank Maria for devoting the time and preparing great workshops for us!
English Summer/Winter Camp crew wishes All the Best to All Children as we have International Children’s Day! 🙂
